Indigo: Can't Wait

Indigo is going to be bad to the bone! B-b-b-b-b-b-bad! :-)

Indigo is going to bring together the worlds of Web Services, all of the WS specs, Remoting, message queueing, and distributed transactions? Nice!!! I remember how excited I was about Web Services a few years ago, and the same about learning remoting on the .NET Framework (via Ingo Rammer's outstanding book Advanced .NET Remoting). There's a great article out on MSDN called Introducing Indigo: An Early Look. This is definitely worth reading from top to bottom! If you are familiar with remoting, the information in the article about Indigo configuration will be very intuitive. It's just as easy to grasp as Singleton, SingleCall, and Client-Activated objects in remoting - but Indigo has even more power by giving you concurrency control, which would sorta be like a remoting Singleton object w/ thread synchronization built in. I can't wait for the next CTP drop! In the mean time, I'd like to know more about the Windows Activation Service (WAS) coming soon to an OS near you.  :-)
