This blog entry about the VS Team Architect version not having the perf
tools included leads me to comment on which VS Team version I think is best so far.
Initially I was thinking of transitioning my MSDN subscription to Team Suite
Developer. After installing the trail version of the full blown Team Suite, I
would argue that the
Visual Studio Team Edition for Software Tester version is the better way to
go. Especially if you are into
TDD.
There is no automated testing per se but the unit, load, Web, code coverage, and
other testing tools absolutely rock in VS Team for Test! You can also easily
bind your unit tests to test data in a database and be up and running in
minutes. If you transition to Team Suite Test, you can still download
FxCop for
free and get a great deal on
dotTrace by
JetBrains to get decent dev tools. Just my $.02.
